I have terrible trouble finding buttons I like. It’s frustrating to put lots of thought and effort into knitting or sewing a garment, only to be thwarted at the last stage of finishing.
The selection available at our local fabric stores is really hit and miss so I’ve decided to declare this year of online button shopping (and online craft shopping more generally).
My first foray into this exciting new world is a small order from Deramores in the UK. It arrived relatively quickly, and I must say I’m rather pleased.
I’ve been searching for the perfect 7/8″ wooden button for a baby boy cardigan I finished knitting months ago. I’ve looked high and low and haven’t been able to find anything suitable locally, or from local online stores. You’d think it would be easy enough to find attractive, round, wooden buttons, no? Wrong.
I think the buttons on the far left should be a perfect fit. This makes me very happy.
The only problem with my online button shopping plans is delivery times. I’m terrible at waiting for the post. I think I’m going to have to save up some spending money, do a pre-emptive button order and build up my button stash.
Every self-respecting crafter needs a button stash, right? Any suggestions for online button stores?
