We’re having a crazy week here – my parents are visiting and things are happening all over the place. I’m knocking off all sorts of life admin, running errands and we’re getting things done in the yard. I’ve even managed to buy some new clothes – for probably the first time in three years! Alex and I have been ducking out after the children are asleep and going for walks. Glorious.
I’ve been watching our cherry tree like a hawk for the last few weeks, watching the fruit ripen and crossing my fingers we’d get some fruit before the birds took off with it all.
The tree is huge, so we’ve been climbing a ladder and doing our best. I don’t want to end up in hospital trying to explain about a huge cherry tree and a ladder and…well, you get the picture! I’m being good and only picking the ones closer to the ground.
I’m doing my best not to eat the cherries before they hit the bowl.
Elena’s enjoying them right off the tree, but I’m a bit stressed about her swallowing the pits inadvertently. She’s good though, and stops when I tell her to and eats her way around the pit. This kid is growing up too fast. Look at her! Where did my baby go?
