I’m on Etsy!

I’ve taken a massive leap and decided to open a little shop on Etsy. Eeek! I’ve become quite addicted to dyeing yarn and am smart enough to realise I’m never going to manage to knit my way through the amount I’m dyeing. I’ve named the store after the blog – best keep it all the same, huh?

Find me here: ruth plus two. If you’re tempted, or know someone who might be, use the coupon OPENING2013 for a 20% discount during the month of November.

macaroon crush semi solid tealI had toyed with the idea of saving up enough stock to do a grand opening but, to be honest, I just thought I’d get started slowly, test the waters and see how I go. I’ve listed my first four coordinating skeins of beautifully soft worsted (10 ply) yarn.

I’ve come to love this colourway, which I’m calling Macaroon Crush, and the matching semi-solid teal. I can see so much knitting potential in this lot – it would be perfect as a baby cardigan with the teal as a trim.

coordinatingIt’s taken a lot of nerve to list them and accept that they will (hopefully) be finding themselves a new home. I won’t spam the blog with Etsy store news, but I’ll let you know when I’ve got a new listing.

Happy Friday, everyone! We’ve got a busy weekend planned – my folks are coming to stay for the weekend and the kids, Alex and I are also catching up with a bunch of treasured friends for brunch tomorrow. It’s going to be great.

Congratulations Ruth! And the colours are just delicious 🙂 (I have to admit, I cheekily was going to message you the other day to see if you’d dye some yarn for me (for a price of course) – I’ve loved the colours you’ve had on the blog lately!) All the very best with it xx

Thank you – and I’d love to if you’re still tempted! Feel free to message me and we can see what we can work out 🙂

I will … just need to wait a bit as I’ve just spent a tiny bit of money *ahem* on Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted for a blanket for my sister’s first baby (due in April). My husband would say we can afford to buy some more yarn in 2043 or so …
