Celebrate the BOY!: Baby Sophisticate

We visited some friends and their newborn son on the weekend. He’s a total cutie and they all seem to be doing very well. Elena seemed a little concerned at first – I think she thought the little one might be coming home with us. I think Hugo’s enough, as far as she’s concerned! She warmed up in the end – but not so much that she was happy for me to have a new baby cuddle. That got cut short. Very quickly.

I must say, I had forgotten how very small newborns are. Even though Hugo’s only eight weeks old, I found myself admiring the new arrival completely unable to remember Hugo being so small. The brain and the tricks it plays are amazing.

Hugo’s new playmate was the recipient of a little baby knit I started months ago, as soon as I found out my friend was expecting a little boy. This is my first Celebrate the BOY! offering. Good timing, huh?

Welcome to the world, little one.

I hope it keeps him nice and warm this winter.
