Hugo’s baby vertebrae

Somehow, I’m not sure how, I’ve managed to finish Hugo’s cotton Baby Vertebrae. It’s a very straightforward pattern knited top down on circular needles. This one is knitted in Bendigo Woollen Mill’s 8 ply cotton (latte and French navy colourways) on the needle sizes recommended.

IMG_1509I’m happy with how it has turned out and am going to call it finished without blocking it. I might get around to it at some point, but I doubt it!

IMG_1497I think I did something a little funny when I picked up the stitches around the neckline, but I’m happy with how it looks and am going to put it down to my sleep deprived state. It was also my first attempt at a lot of ribbing in one go. I think I managed okay.

IMG_1516It fits him very well.

IMG_1529 It was such a quick knit that I think it would make an excellent baby gift.

We’re happy all round today.

The colour scheme is stunning, Ruth, and it looks like Hugo nodded off with its comfy warmth. Lucky boy!
