in threes, times two

I recently knitted a Beyond Puerperium for a friend’s daughter but, for some reason, it turned out really large. My gauge was fine, and quick search of Ravelry comments seems to indicate the pattern sizes large so maybe it’s not just me.

In an effort to break my Beyond Puerperium addiction, I cast on another project to send off to Beijing for this little girl’s birthday – Kelly Herdrich’s in threes: a baby cardigan.

Comments on the pattern indicate it’s also fairly generously sized, but I hope the style will mean this matters less – and it should mean they get a few seasons of wear out of it.

I’ve stuck with Bendigo Woollen Mills’ Luxury 10 ply in Lake because I think the colour will suit her.

I’m really impressed with the pattern. It is written clearly and has knitted up very quickly in 10 ply. I’ve flown through it, getting it largely finished over the course of three days – fitting for a pattern called ‘in threes’!

After I finished my gift ‘in threes’, I cast on one for Elena. She has completely missed out in my recent knitting activity, so I figured it was only fair I start on something for her for next autumn.

In other news, I’ve managed to reach 37 weeks so I’m allowed off the couch! It’s a pity it’s so hot here that on the couch, under the air conditioning is the best place to be.
