Mad flurry of activity

Baby number two is due to make an appearance in approximately five weeks, so I’m working my way through a list of baby and house related jobs…and craft projects. Is this the part where I admit my craft to-do list is longer than any other list? It’s all for a good cause though – most of the projects are gifts for new babies due before March (when I estimate I might get my life back…kind of) and Christmas presents.

Besides, who in their right mind (at 35 weeks pregnant) wouldn’t prefer sitting and knitting to packing boxes and doing housework?

I most recently finished a Beyond Puerperium cardigan from Kelly Brooker over at knit.so.quaint. It’s a darling pattern and knits up very quickly. I was very happy with the Bendigo Woollen Mills Luxury 10ply.

But in my (limited) experience it sizes very big! I had started this one envisioning that I’d give it as a first birthday present to a friend’s daughter but it’s too large.

I have cast on another in the 3-6 month size to use up the end of the skein and pop into our gift drawer, and am awaiting our little friend’s chest measurements before I cast on another for her.

Elena and I are home together today, so I won’t get too much knitting done today…packing boxes with a one year-old helper, anyone?
